Ring in the New Year a little early with a 250+ balloon drop at noon! Join the Museum and East Lyme Parks & Recreation for southeastern Connecticut’s premier New Year’s event for children and families! The celebration is at East Lyme Community Center, 41 Society Rd., Niantic, CT. Museum is closed New Year’s Eve as all the fun has been moved just minutes away!
Meet our special guest Captain America from 11am-1pm. Get your imagination going as you build and create at our craft Creation Station. Enjoy some hands-on New Year’s arts and crafts. Purchase a bite from our visiting food truck The Rolling Tomato. Take a silly New Year’s family photo with Premier Photo Booth. The Rotary Club will be on hand with an Amber Alert Safe Child station. Even our Museum critters will be there to get in on the celebration. And whatever you do, don’t miss the “Crazy Science” demonstrations!
Explore the stars with STARLAB (additional $1 fee required), the Museum’s portable, inflatable planetarium. This 20-minute program leads you through a learning journey of the stars, constellations and seasons with some stories from Greek Mythology along the way. Please note that each show limited to 25 people. For ages 6 and up. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
