Little Artists Studio: How to Draw a Bunny

April 12, 2020

Learn how to draw a bunny using only circles and ovals with these step-by-step instructions perfect for young children (and their adults!) Our designer Miss Rita breaks down how to draw bunnies (at three different difficulties) using only these two basic shapes. Please note: To make these bunnies less daunting to our young friends, you’ll need an eraser to get rid of the overlapping lines. Grab a pencil and some paper and get hopping!

Beginner Bunny

1. Draw a large circle.

2. Add two medium vertical ovals to the top of the circle. (Or an upside down U.)

3. Erase overlapping lines and add your own creative face. 🙂

Intermediate Bunny

1. Draw a large horizontal oval.

2. Add two medium vertical ovals to the top right of the oval.

3. Draw a small to medium circle to the top left of the oval. Add four small circles to the bottom of your large oval.

4. Erase overlapping lines and add your own creative face (or bows). 🙂

Advanced Bunny

Drawing the head.

1. Draw a large circle.

2. Add a medium horizontal oval to the very bottom of the circle, making sure the right side lines up with the right edge of the circle.

3. Add two medium vertical ovals to the top of the circle.

Drawing the body.

4. Draw a large circle directly under the bunny’s head, making sure the bottom of the head and the top of the circle touch or overlap. Add a second smaller circle inside the large body circle.

5. Add a medium horizontal oval to the very bottom of the circle, making sure the right side lines up with the right edge of the circle.

6. Add a medium circle to the right of your large body circle and two small circles to the body wherever you’d like your bunny’s arms to be.

7. Erase overlapping lines and add your own creative face. 🙂
