Group Visits

Group Reservations
Call during Museum hours and we’ll be happy to schedule your visit. You will receive a confirmation letter in the mail after your $40 deposit is paid. Recommended visit time is 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

How many adults should we bring?
To ensure a safe, educational, and fun experience for your group, we require one chaperone for every five school-age children (5 or older), and one chaperone for every three preschool children (4 and under). These chaperones are free, plus one adult as the group leader.

Group Rates
$4 per child; minimum 10 paying children. Must be an organized group. Chaperones in excess of the required ratio will also be charged $4 each. If one or more children in your group are Museum members, they must bring their current membership card (or a copy) or they will be charged admission at the group rate. Only the member child can be admitted free. Library Memberships do not apply in groups.

Programs
The Museum offers a variety of programs in which your group may participate during their visit. Program fees, lengths, and availability may vary; please call for a brochure about program offerings.

On-site programs
Programs for groups visiting the museum are arranged in advance with your group reservation. Students participate in hands-on activities in our classroom, and have full access to Museum exhibits. Programs are repeated as necessary to serve the entire group. $4 per child plus group rate.

Docent-Lead Group Visits

Start your visit to the Children’s Museum with an in-depth exploration of an exhibit of your choice. An educator greets you, escorts your group to the exhibit and begins a discussion with the children, lasting approximately 15 to 20 minutes with a hands-on component. $2 per child plus group rate.

Where can we eat?
The Children’s Museum does not currently have eating facilities. We do have picnic tables available on the grounds if you would like to bring lunch. If you arrive before lunch and would like to leave to eat, hang on to your receipt and you can come back afterwards.

Late Policy
Field trips to the Museum are popular, and we want to do our best to provide a quality visit for all students. If you find that your group will be more than 20 minutes late, please give us a call; this information will allow us to help your group participate in all originally scheduled programs and activities.
