An event every day that begins at 9:30am, repeating until August 10, 2018
Join us for a summer filled with science, learning and wonder at the Children’s Museum of Southeastern CT. We’ll be exploring a different science each week from July 2 to August 24 (from 9:30am-4pm) with demonstrations and hands-on activities. All activities are FREE with Museum admission thanks to the generosity of Pfizer, our Summer Science Days sponsor.
Construction Engineering – August 6-10
Let’s get building! This week is full of physics concepts such as force and motion, gravity, and simple machines. Children will have the opportunity to build a marshmallow tower strong enough to hold weight, construct a marble roller coaster, and learn about the wheel and axle by making their own Life Saver car! Design briefs and common items are provided to challenge guests to engage in problem solving and critical thinking as they complete a task. Visitors will explore Newton’s Laws of Motion through the Museum’s Create a Chain Reaction Kit. Let’s not forget about creating a Lego masterpiece and even build a shelter from our Museum Thinker Linkers! There are tons of opportunities to build and explore this week!
