Stories Galore! 2nd Annual Celebration of Children's Literature
Mon.-Fri., April 14-18, 10 am-2 pm
Join us during spring break week as we celebrate children's literature! Museum educators provide hands-on activities and crafts related to stories. Visitors leave with their own book, while supplies last. Parents, don’t miss the Parent Board to collect your tips for working with young readers!

Monday, April 14, 2 pm: Farmer Minor and Daisy the Pig are joining us so we can all pig out on reading!

Tuesday,
April 15:
10 am: Author Betsy Devany's picture book, "Smelly Baby" (2016 publication date), is about a child and her best-loved stuffie. KIDS, bring your most loved, favorite stuffie or doll on Tuesday, April 15th. Ms. Devaney loves to hear stories of smelly stuffies/dollies and would like to feature yours on her blog. She will photograph your beloved stuffies/dollies to go along with their stories. Children will also have an opportunity to draw what they think Smelly Baby looks like.
12 noon: FoxCT TV's chief meteorologist, Joe Furey, joins us for the ribbon cutting on our updated weather station exhibit! And, in keeping with our exploration of children's literature, Mr. Furey will be reading a story selected especially for our young visitors.
2 pm: our very own, multi-talented April Brunelle shares the book she illustrated, "My Nosy Rosey" then shares the process of illustrating a book with our visitors.

Wednesday,
April 16, 10 am: Music teacher Nicole Clarke presents an interactive program, in which families engage in singing, dancing, circle games, creative movement, vocal exploration, and instrumental play. Parents will learn how they can facilitate their child's musical development and how it relates to early reading skills!

Thursday,
April 17, 10 am: Ann Shapiro from Connecticut Storytellers enchants all with stories and songs.

Friday,
April 18: Miss Marjorie will join us with Animals & Stories!

All of these Stories Galore special activities and events are included with admission
